http://www.csunconference.org

Serotek will be on site at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego, CA from March 16 – March 19.

If you’re looking for sessions to attend at this year’s conference, join Ricky Enger for session BLV-2031 in America’s Cup B, March 16 from 9:20 – 10:20 AM PST. The session will cover using Serotek’s AE HotSpot

http://accessibleevent.com/hotspot

When you’re not attending sessions, come and see hands-on demonstrations of the Serotek technology making your workplace, your classroom, and your digital life accessible.

Making the Printed Word Accessible
Serotek’s DocuScan Plus gives you quick and easy access to the printed word, no matter where you are. DocuScan Plus can be installed on your own machine, or run from any public computer by visiting

http://www.docuscanplus.com

In true Serotek fashion, you can view and manage previously scanned documents from the cloud, meaning that you’ll always be able to access the material you’ve previously scanned, no matter the computer you are  using. If you like, you can also save documents directly to the hard drive of your current computer.  You can convert your scanned documents to a variety of formats, including mp3, bRF, and DAISY with text and audio. Your material can come from PDF’s, a traditional flatbed scanner, or even the soon to be released portable document camera from HoverCam. Visit booth 820 to get a hands-on demonstration of this small, affordable  and extremely accurate camera that fits easily in a backpack or laptop bag. Pair the camera with DocuScan Plus and make the printed word instantly accessible, anywhere life takes you.

Accessibility in the Workplace
Serotek has everything you need to stay productive and connected on the job.  With solutions like

Remote Access Manager

and Remote Incident Manager

IT professionals and trainers can accessibly connect to remote computers from anywhere in the world to offer maintenance, troubleshooting and one-on-one instruction.  Blind and sighted technicians alike can easily provide support services to all end users, regardless of whether or not assistive technology is present on the remote machine.

Accessibility in the Classroom
For students K-12 in the U.S. and Canada, Serotek provides free screen-reading access on a portable U3 USB thumb drive through the

Keys for K-12 Program

Students in K-12 classrooms can use Serotek’s System Access Mobile screen reader simply by plugging the thumb drive in to any computer, at school or at home.  Students no longer need to be restricted to a computer preconfigured with assistive technology, and can enjoy full access right alongside their sighted classmates.

Urgen Announcement for Vipre Users

The latest definitions for Vipre Antivirus from Sunbelt Software are flagging System Access as a trojan. this means if you reboot your computer, you will not have speech and will likely need sighted assistance. You may wish to run another screen reader to give permission to Vipre to allow System Access. You may even consider disabling Vipre, or even uninstalling Vipre until they have resolved the problem they have created.. we are in contact with Sunbelt Software at this late hour in the hope of resolving the issue asap.
